The Search for an Excavator Valve
A cracked hydraulic valve stack in our QK20R excavator turned into a fairly involved parts search this fall. The repair shop had difficulty sourcing a replacement, so I began looking more closely at the assembly and the available alternatives. The challenge goes beyond finding something advertised for the same model of machine. We need to identify what is actually installed and establish which replacement would work with it. One possibility I was researching in October was an equivalent sectional valve assembly. That means sorting out the ports and connections and checking compatibility before treating any candidate as a solution. As of October 19, I hadn’t confirmed a replacement or completed the repair.
